1928
The beginnings
The history of the BMW Clubs goes back to 1928, when a group of BMW motorcyclists founded the BMW Club Düsseldorf. The club’s chairman, Friedhelmd Günter, was president of BMW Clubs Europe for many years and later chairman of the BMW Clubs International Council. Over decades of development work, the BMW Clubs in North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Asia and Europe have developed into a strong community.
1950
Going worldwide
The association of BMW friends extends from one end of the world to the other, from the BMW Club of Japan to the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America.
1981
International Council
Since 1981, the global BMW Clubs have come together to form an umbrella organization – the BMW Clubs International Council – in order to create clear and internationally binding framework conditions for the clubs’ activities and public appearance.
2024
Today
Today, the international BMW club organization with 120,000 members is the world’s largest network of clubs that represents the brand of a car and motorcycle manufacturer.
